I am often asked, "How do you _________?" Fill in the blank with anything from teaching to technology to blogging. So, without further ado...here are a few of my favorite things (aka sources, cites, people, etc.) that I use daily to draw inspiration and innovation.
Technology Tips and Tricks
The Google for Education YouTube channel is a great place to start. From there you can find independently made videos for apps and extensions.
Blogging Tools
I am currently using Blogger in the Google Apps family, but am contemplating moving to a more user-friendly format. I will keep you guys posted on what happens here.
Twitter Tools
The most life changing discovery for me as far as social media for professional use goes has been TweetDeck. This allows me so much flexibility and so many options during Twitter chats. Love, love, love this!!
Twitter Users
Okay ya'll. I realize you work 8-10 hours a day, and you think there just isn't enough time in the day to spend on Twitter...what's the point, right? Well, let me tell you...the impact is HUGE!! Almost everything I use to innovate education in my classroom, I read about or learned more about on Twitter. Here are just a few of my favorite Tweeters:
@MistyMitchellm ~ Misty is a Media Specialist in my district who has been a groundbreaker in bringing us into the 21st century.
@JoanRagland1 ~ AKA "Teacher Tech" Joan is the Instructional Technology specialist and director in my district. Here enthusiasm for technology and innovative education is absolutely infectious!!
@ShakeUpLearning ~ I literally find myself weekly going to Casey Bell's "Shake Up Learning" website to review how to do something or just look to see what is new. Can't go wrong with this one!!
@friEdTechnology ~ This lady loves education and love technology.
